A Letter From Dr. Jody Bearman:

Dear friends,

I have news I'd like to share with you. My family and I have decided to move to Hawaii. I have been offered the opportunity to work in a clinic in Kona on the big island and as a family we have decided to pursue this adventure. My husband Todd will be leaving for Hawaii next week, and the girls and I will follow at the end of the school year in June. We are going for a two-year trial; if all goes well we plan to stay permanently, but if we decide we just can't live without Wisconsin winters we will come back in 2012. I know that this may come as an unwelcome shock to some of you, and for that I apologize. I am working to ensure continuity of care for your animals in my absence. I am in discussions with a local veterinarian, a fellow graduate of the Chi Institute of Veterinary Acupuncture, to join the Anshen practice and provide care for your animals. We have not finalized an agreement yet, but I am very hopeful that we will be able to do this soon. In any event, I will still be able to provide herbs for you; if I have seen your animal in 2010, I can continue to prescribe herbs. I will also be available by email to answer questions about nutrition, vaccinations, etc. Please continue to send your herb orders and questions to Nadia at nadia@anshenvet.com or 608-333-7811; I will not be checking my Anshen email address with any regularity as of June. Nadia will process your herb orders and forward any questions you may have to me.

I will continue to see patients through the first week in June. Unfortunately, my availability will be limited, particularly in the afternoons, as I will need to pick up my daughters from school. At this time, I am limiting my appointments to current clients; I would like to devote as much time as possible to the people and animals that have meant so much to me. With the addition of a new veterinarian to the practice, we will again be able to see new patients and will appreciate your continued support. We will let you know when the books are open to new clients and we will certainly keep you up to date as details are finalized.

While I am excited about this new chapter in my life, I am sorry to say goodbye to so many wonderful people and animals that I have worked with over the last few years. Thank you so much for letting me into your homes and your lives, for letting me help you care for your precious animal family members.

Dr. Jody

P.S. Before I forget, a note to those of you who prepare home-cooked meals for your animals: do not forget about calcium! Calcium is so important in your animal's diet! Remember to add a calcium supplement to their food! If you have questions, send them to Nadia!

-- With every good wish,
Jody Bearman DVM, CVA

We have more exciting changes to announce! Starting in June, you will be able to pick up herb orders at Nutzy Mutz and Crazy Catz at 330 West Lakeside Street in Madison. We are also making a clinic change. We will no longer be scheduling clinic appointments at All Pets in Middleton. Dr. Andrea will be seeing clinic appointments at Sauk Point Veterinary Clinic at 725 North High Point Road in Madison.
